Night guards

Night guards are molded plastic that typically fit over the upper teeth to help prevent tooth damage and facial strain due to teeth grinding during sleep (called bruxism). At Richlea Dental, we can help you protect your teeth with custom night guards.

To make a night guard, the dentist first makes an impression of your teeth and sends it to the lab. The lab then creates a night guard made of clear plastic that fits exactly over your upper teeth. The night guard helps to cushion your teeth at night and prevents damage to the enamel.

It is important to take care of your night guard by cleaning it in warm water and mild soap after each use. You can also bring it in with you on your dental exam visits so that the dentist can examine for wear and give it a thorough cleaning.
