Dentures

Dentures are removable artificial teeth to replace missing teeth. There are two types of dentures: partial and complete. Partial dentures are used when more than a few teeth are missing and nearby teeth are not strong enough to hold a bridge. Typically, partial dentures consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base and may have metal clasps that hold it in place in the mouth. Complete dentures are used when all the natural teeth are missing and are often called "false teeth." Complete dentures are held in place by suction on the gums.

Both partial and complete dentures need to be removed and cleaned on a daily basis to prevent bacterial growth and gum disease.
